Product Description
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT*), published by Riverside Publishing, a Houghton Mifflin Company, Multilevel Edition tests are commonly given to 3nd grade students and above (and sometimes students in 2nd grade), although it depends on what test your school/program provides and the test level that they use for your grade level. The A - H level tests expect that the child is able to read and answer the test questions themselves. This practice test contains nine tests in the three test areas found on the CogAT:VERBALVerbal Classification 20 questions Sentence Completion 20 questionsVerbal Analogies 25 questionsQUANTITATIVEQuantitative Relations 25 questionsNumber Series 20 questionsEquation Building 15 questionsNONVERBALFigure Classification 25 questionsFigure Analogies 25 questionsFigure Analysis 15 questionsPractice Test for the CogAT* Multilevel Edition is a full length practice test with answer key. The object of this practice test is to familiarize your child with sample questions they will face on test day, how the tests are formatted, the symbols used and the number of questions in in each test area. However, since this practice test has not been standardized with Riverside Publishing and the actual CogAT* test, a valid CogAT* test score cannot be concluded from their results on this practice test. * CogAT is a registered trademark of Houghton Mifflin Company. 4 out of 5 stars Practice test book review   October 25, 2008

My son needed some practice in learning how to best take these kinds of tests. Even though this wasn't the exact test he took, it was helpful for him to use this book to learn test taking skills. It gave him the boost he needed to get a really good score. It was totally worth it.

My son came home from taking the exam and said the practice test was just like the exam he took that day. He went into the exam with confidence knowing what to expect. Great resource! I would highly recommend. Joyce

I was dissapointed to receive this book, which is hard to read and use. There is only limited information in this little book. I won't recommend this book to other parents.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent preparation materials!!   March 28, 2008

We received my son's results today. He scored in the 99th percentiles in quantitative and verbal and the 97th percentile in non-verbal - and I have the practice test materials in this book to thank. Not only did he feel confidence going into the test, but he also felt that the test was easier than the practice materials. This is an outstanding resource that should be used by everyone taking the CogAT exam!!
